Description | The New York City Bar Association (City Bar), founded in 1870, is a voluntary organization of over 23,000 lawyers dedicated to improving the administration of justice and promoting the study of law. Provides career development and networking opportunities for our members, while offering continuing legal education and pro bono opportunities for members of the profession. Our committees shape public policy through holding open forums and issuing reports while our Legal Referral Service informs the public through its legal referral hotline. We assist needy New Yorkers through the City Bar Fund, the Association's pro bono arm that trains volunteer attorneys. This public service has earned the City Bar its reputation as a public-spirited bar association that speaks up strongly for integrity in the political process and for quality in the courts. |
